Tuning Forks Level One is a foundational certification that introduces tuning forks as both a diagnostic and therapeutic sound balancing modality.
Based on the work of Eileen McKusick, this training teaches a specific 8-step biofield tuning process, often referred to as an adjustment. You’ll learn how to work within an individual’s biofield to identify areas of resistance, distortion, or stored energy—and how to use sound to support coherence and regulation.
Led by Auburn Juliano-Herchek, a certified practitioner trained directly under Eileen McKusick, this course blends science, subtle energy awareness, and hands-on application, making tuning forks accessible, ethical, and practical for real-world use.
What You Can Do After This Foundational Training
Tuning Forks Level One provides the education and experiential practice needed to begin working with tuning forks confidently.
After completing this foundational course, you are prepared to:
- Use tuning forks on yourself and others
- Integrate tuning forks into existing wellness offerings such as massage, Reiki, yoga, counseling, chiropractic, or energy work
- Apply tuning forks as both a diagnostic tool (reading the biofield) and a therapeutic tool (supporting coherence and nervous system regulation)
For those wishing to fully integrate tuning forks into a professional practice, Tuning Forks Level Two is recommended.
Understanding the Biofield
The biofield is the energetic field that surrounds and extends beyond the physical body—typically 5–6 feet. When working with tuning forks, we apply the principles of resonance and entrainment.
- Diagnostic: Tuning forks help detect areas of resistance, distortion, or energetic “noise”
- Therapeutic: The fork initially resonates with incoherence (such as anxiety or stress), then entrains the system toward a more coherent state
Many modern conditions—chronic stress, fatigue, nervous system dysregulation—can be understood as a depleted energetic “battery.” Sound is used to help increase voltage and restore balance.
Who This Training Is For
This certification is ideal for:
- Wellness practitioners seeking to add tuning forks to their offerings
- Massage therapists, chiropractors, counselors, and bodyworkers
- Reiki practitioners and energy healers
- Yoga teachers and meditation guides
- Anyone interested in learning sound balancing with tuning forks
No prior experience is required.
Prerequisites
None — all are welcome.

- Guidance and recommendations for purchasing your own forks will be provided during class
The cost of certification does not include tuning forks.
Professional Designation & Pathway Clarity
Upon completing Tuning Forks Level One, graduates may refer to themselves as a Forks Apprentice, reflecting foundational training in sound balancing with tuning forks.
Completion of both Tuning Forks Level One and Level Two is required to use the designation Sound Balancing with Tuning Forks Practitioner or Tuning Forks Practitioner, as outlined in our FAQ.
Please note: Cost of certification does not include tuning fork; during class you will be given a tuning fork to practice with and recommendations for what to purchase will be given during class.
