Tuning Forks Level One Certification
Duration: 5 hours
Instructor: Auburn Juliano-Herchek
About This Certification
Tuning Forks Level One is a foundational certification introducing tuning forks as both a diagnostic and therapeutic sound balancing modality.
Based on the work of Eileen McKusick, this training teaches a structured 8-step biofield tuning process—often referred to as an adjustment. You’ll learn how to work within the biofield to identify areas of resistance, distortion, or stored energy, and how to use sound to support coherence and nervous system regulation.
Led by Auburn Juliano-Herchek, a certified practitioner trained directly under McKusick, this course blends science, subtle energy awareness, and hands-on application—making tuning forks accessible, ethical, and practical for real-world use.
Sound at SHINE is more than a single class—it’s a full pathway of learning and embodiment.

What This Certification Prepares You For
This training provides the education and experiential practice needed to begin working with tuning forks confidently.
After completing this course, you are prepared to:
- Use tuning forks on yourself and others
- Integrate tuning forks into existing offerings such as massage, Reiki, yoga, counseling, chiropractic, or energy work
- Apply tuning forks as both a diagnostic tool (reading the biofield) and a therapeutic tool (supporting coherence and regulation)
For those who feel called to deepen their practice, Tuning Forks Level Two is the next step toward practitioner-level training and certification. These two courses can be bundled to save $150. Bundles must be purchased before the completion of level one. Bundle details
Understanding the Biofield
The biofield is the energetic field that surrounds and extends beyond the physical body—typically 5–6 feet.
When working with tuning forks, we use the principles of resonance and entrainment:
- Diagnostic: Detect areas of resistance, distortion, or energetic “noise”
- Therapeutic: Support the system in shifting from incoherence (stress, anxiety, depletion) toward greater balance and regulation
Many modern conditions—chronic stress, fatigue, nervous system dysregulation—can be understood as a depleted energetic “battery.” Sound is used to help restore charge, coherence, and flow.
Who This Training Is For
This certification is ideal for:
- Wellness practitioners expanding their skillset
- Massage therapists, chiropractors, counselors, and bodyworkers
- Reiki practitioners and energy healers
- Yoga teachers and meditation guides
- Anyone interested in learning sound balancing with tuning forks
No prior experience is required.
What You’ll Learn
This training combines education with immersive, hands-on experience.
You’ll explore:
- The body and the biofield
- Stored or “stuck” energy and what location may indicate
- The language of sound and frequency
- The science of entrainment
- Tuning Forks 101: activation, application, and technique
- How to read and work within the biofield
- The 8-step biofield tuning process
- Session preparation and aftercare
- Practitioner responsibility and ethical application
- Group sound balancing experiences
Hands-On Experience & Materials
- Tuning forks and activators are provided for use during class
- You may bring your own forks if you already have them
- Guidance on purchasing your own set will be provided
Please note: tuning forks are not included in the cost of certification.
Professional Designation & Pathway
Upon completing Tuning Forks Level One, graduates may refer to themselves as a Forks Apprentice, reflecting foundational training in sound balancing with tuning forks.
Completion of both Level One and Level Two is required to use the designation:
- Sound Balancing with Tuning Forks Practitioner
- Or Tuning Forks Practitioner
Certificates are awarded upon completion of Level Two, representing practitioner-level training in this modality.
Please note: Cost of certification does not include tuning fork; during class you will be given a tuning fork to practice with and recommendations for what to purchase will be given during class.
Preregistration is required. A minimum of 2 students is required for this training; with a maximum of 14 students. If the minimum is not met, the class will be cancelled at the discretion of the teacher. If SHINE cancels the event for any reason, students will have the option of a refund or to be moved to a future date.
Please note before committing to the class: If student cancels or decides not to attend the certification, class fees are non-refundable. Fee can be transferred to a different date if communicated at least 5 days in advance and if minimum class size is met. Processing fee applies.
