Cacao Ceremony with Erica Crystol, a modern-day medicine woman

Time: 6:30-8:00pm

Location: 5190 Cline Rd Kent Ohio 44240

What is a Cacao Ceremony:

Cacao Ceremonies are a celebratory ritual that have been conducted by the Maya and Ancient Aztec civilization since 1900 B.C. Ceremonies were conducted by ancient shamans, to prepare for or be propelled into journeys. Our ceremony will be conducted by a modern-day medicine woman; one who has studied with Chief Haru of the Kuntanawa tribe.

In ancient times, the location of the ceremony was a key factor in the self-exploration. We offer our sacred space and surrounding - at SHINE - to enhance the experience.

Why does cacao help with self-exploration and spiritual awakenings:

Amongst its physical benefits, cacao is a great source of four scientifically proven bliss chemicals – serotonin, tryptophan, tyrosine and phenylethylamine. These neurotransmitters are associated with feelings of wellbeing and happiness. Like anything, your experience with cacao depends on the substances quality, the location of the ceremony and the preparation and knowledge of the person conducting the ceremony.

Each Cacao ceremony is unique, sometimes they involve dance or movement to release trauma in the body; prayer or singing to bring forth wishes and positive outcomes; meditation or shamanic journeys for self-reflection and spiritual awakening.

Here’s how this ceremony will unfold:

  • Intro and education about Cacao
  • Receive the Cacao from Erica
  • Shamanic journey + meditation
  • Drumming
  • Sacred chanting
  • Closing

Optional items to bring: Your favorite cup from home to share in the cacao; a yoga mat an additional blanket for your comfort (optional) and a bottled water. Also, come with a light stomach. There’s no formal attire – dress comfortably and in layers.

A little bit about Erica:

Erica Crystol comes to us from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is the owner of CrystolClear Naturals, LLC, a Wellness Spa and Apothecary Retail. After decades of suffering, Erica, went on the most miraculous journey of her life. It took her to Belize, Costa Rica, and then California where she studied with Chief Haru of the Kuntanawa tribe. The Kuntanawa tribe is known for using plants to connect with the beings and spirits of the forest. She has been studying and gaining her credentials for over a decade so that she can share her expertise with others. Erica has over 60 certifications and a wealth of knowledge and is featured as an author in the book Stories of Alchemy.

We met Erica in early 2022 and have been hoping to collaborate with her ever since. We can’t wait, one year later, to share this AMAZING experience with you!

Please note before committing to the event: Event fees are non-refundable. No refunds, or credits are allowed. Erica is joining us from out-of-town so her workshop can not be transfered to another date, however, if you are not able to make it for any reason, you can transfer the ticket to another person.
