SHINE is a living laboratory.

For years, people have walked out of SHINE experiences and said things like:

"My mind finally got quiet."

"I slept better than I have in years."

"Something shifted, and I can't quite explain it."

"I didn't realize how much I was carrying."

"I feel like myself again."

Those experiences matter.

In fact, they are the reason SHINE exists.

But lately, I've found myself asking a different question:

What if we could actually measure some of these shifts?

Not because I think everything meaningful needs to be measured.

Not because we're trying to prove anything.

And definitely not because I think a scan can tell us whether someone had a profound experience.

We're doing it because we're curious.

Welcome to the SHINE Living Laboratory

I've always thought of SHINE as more than a place where you come to take a yoga class, experience Reiki, attend a sound bath, learn breathwork, or explore another healing modality.

We bring together practices that work with the body, mind, nervous system, consciousness, and what many traditions describe as the human energy field.

And we get to watch what happens when people experience them.

That makes SHINE a pretty incredible place to explore.

So this spring, I became a Certified Bio-Well Practitioner, and SHINE became one of only four approved Bio-Well practitioner centers in Ohio.

And that opened the door to something I've wanted to do for a long time:

Turn SHINE into a living laboratory.

What Is Bio-Well?

Bio-Well is a non-invasive bioenergetic assessment system used by practitioners and researchers around the world.

Using a specialized camera, the system scans each of the ten fingertips and generates a visual report designed to provide information about a person's energetic state at that moment in time.

The technology has also been used at Dr. Joe Dispenza's advanced retreats to observe changes in participants over the course of intensive meditation experiences.

That immediately fascinated me.

Because at SHINE, we're already creating environments where people are intentionally changing their state.

Through breath.

Sound.

Meditation.

Movement.

Touch.

Energy work.

Stillness.

Connection.

And sometimes through combinations of several of these things at once.

So I started wondering:

What would happen if we looked at someone's Bio-Well scan before one of these experiences...and then looked again afterward?

That's Exactly What We're Doing

We're now incorporating Bio-Well into selected SHINE experiences and comparing participants' before-and-after scans.

We've explored experiences including breathwork, hypnosis, reflexology, Kundalini, Yoga Nidra, Thai Yoga Massage, tuning forks, Reiki, meditation, and immersive sound healing.

The goal isn't to declare that one modality "works" better than another.

We're looking for patterns.

What changes?

What stays the same?

Do different experiences appear to create different energetic shifts?

Does combining modalities create something different?

What happens when someone participates repeatedly over time?

And what can we learn when we stop looking at each SHINE offering as an isolated experience and start looking at the larger environment we're creating?

Because That's the Bigger Question

The question I'm most interested in isn't simply:

What happens during a sound bath?

Or Reiki.

Or breathwork.

Or meditation.

The question I've been fascinated by for years is much bigger:

What changes when people repeatedly expose themselves to environments intentionally designed for healing, connection, expanded awareness, and elevated frequency?

That's the experiment.

And in many ways, SHINE has already been running it for years.

Bio-Well simply gives us another lens through which to observe it.

We Are Here to Explore

SHINE has always been a place where ancient practices, modern modalities, personal experience, consciousness, and curiosity are allowed to exist in the same room.

Now we're adding another layer.

Data.

Observation.

Experimentation.

Questions.

Lots and lots of questions.

Because I don't want SHINE to simply be a place where we offer interesting experiences.

I want it to be a place where we remain deeply curious about what those experiences are actually doing.

So we're going to keep scanning.

Keep experimenting.

Keep listening to what people tell us.

Keep looking for patterns.

Keep asking better questions.

And keep exploring what becomes possible when we intentionally change the environments we place ourselves in.

Welcome to the SHINE Living Laboratory.

We're just getting started.

💚 Cortney
